1. What Openhand is

Openhand is a platform that connects donors with verified local causes. Openhand does not process payments and does not hold or transfer any funds. Donations are made directly between donors and fundraisers using the payout details a fundraiser provides.

2. Verification

We review causes and payout details before they are published. Verification reduces risk but is not a guarantee. Donors should use their own judgement before giving.

3. Fundraiser responsibilities

Fundraisers must provide accurate information and use funds for the stated purpose. Misrepresentation may result in a cause being suspended and removed.

4. Donations & pledges

“Pledges” recorded on Openhand are indications of intent for transparency and progress tracking. They are not processed or enforced by Openhand.

5. Prohibited use

You may not use Openhand for fraud, illegal activity, or to harass others. Report concerns using the report tools provided.

6. Liability

Openhand is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Openhand is not liable for the actions of fundraisers or donors, or for how donated funds are used.
